About Us
The Ocean is Our Way of Life
Have you ever wanted to try out surfing, but were too intimidated by the ocean or just didn't know where to start? Perfect Swell Surf School was created in an effort to provide a solution to these problems. We have designed our lessons to ensure that any beginner surfer of different skill levels will excel in our school. Because we have spent the majority of our lives surfing, we have learned to develop a deep appreciation for the ocean. Water safety is one of our core values. While the ocean can be a gateway to fun activities, it is crucial to learn how to have fun and be safe in the ocean. This is why we prioritize teaching you proper safety measures in the water during your lesson.
Why did we create a surf school? We are a group of Malibu locals who have grown up at the beach and have been surfing ever since we were little kids. We started teaching are friends and family members to surf, and soon realized we wanted to extend our knowledge and expertise with you. Our goal is to share this amazing sport and lifestyle with as many people as possible who have always wanted to try

Carson Henthorn

Hi my name is Carson and I'm born and raised in Southern California. I have been surfing almost my entire life and love teaching the sport to others. One of my favorite things about surfing is the thrill of surfing perfect waves. See you guys out there!
Isaac Fielder

Hi my name is Isaac and I’m from Michigan City.
I love the water and have spent my summers growing up trying every water sport there is!
My favorite part about being apart of Perfect Swell is documenting the highlights of surfers through their journey. Nothing feels better after a surf session than seeing photos of yourself shredding down a wave, and

Hi my name is Theo Burtis and I’m from San Francisco, California. I’ve surfed my whole life, I work at a surf shop, have a small sponsor, and I have spent a lot of time in large Northern Californian surf so I have great water safety skills. My favorite part of being a surf instructor is watching people progress and get stoked on surfing.

Hi my name is Chris and I’m the owner and chief Surf Instructor at Perfect Swell Surf School
I’m born and raised in Southern California and come from a family of surfers. My dad got me my first board when I was 8 and I have been surfing ever since.
My favorite part of being a surf instructor is getting to share my passion for surfing and the ocean with others. I bring over 10 years of experience from competitive surfing, as well as local knowledge of beach and tide.
I work private surf sessions with beginners who have never touched a board, to those who have the basics and want to hone in their skills. I look forward to working with you! See you out in the lineup! 🤙🏼
